The Mysterious Restaurant

Oh, hello everyone. Welcome to another story time. I have a very special story. What makes it so special, you may be asking yourself. Well, tonight’s story is brought to you in part by some very nice friends of my sister, Teddy. Their names are Chalky, Cuddles, and Toddy Furrington. They have provided the setting for tonight’s story. Please focus your attention to the pictures below.

Teddy 45

Here we have a very pleasant restaurant. Nothing remotely out of place, right? We shall see.

Teddy 44

The lovely dining area within the restaurant. Lovely, yes? Out of place? I would seem not.

Teddy 43

The bar. Many gather for drinks here every night. It seems completely normal, right?

Teddy 46

The game room. Where many might come for a nice game of pool or cards. Nothing strange here.

Now that we’ve seen this gorgeous restaurant and all she has to offer, let’s get on with tonight’s story. The title of our story tonight is The Mysterious Restaurant. I do so hope you enjoy it.

The Mysterious Restaurant

The  little teddy was hanging out with Zombie Jem in his cemetery. With them also were her little brothers, Fox and Owl, and her sister, Beary. They were in the middle of discussing their next big adventure. So far they had come up with nothing. But that’s when Owl had an idea. “Oh, have you all heard the story of the mysterious restaurant?” he asked everyone. Intrigued, Zombie Jem replied, “No, I can’t say that I have. What about you, PammyBear?” Jem had taken to calling the little teddy PammyBear because she reminded him of a family member from back when he was still alive. “I don’t think I’ve heard that stowy, either,” she answered, “Pwease, tell us the stowy, Owl!”

“The story is that there’s a restaurant that just appears from nowhere,” he began, “Like, you can actually go into this place and eat food and everything.” The little teddy jumped up, excited. “OOH!” she exclaimed, “I wanna go!” Zombie Jem got up and clapped his hands. “Oh yes,” he agreed, “I think this could be quite fun! Do you know where this restaurant shows up, Owl?” Owl shook his head. “Unfortunately, I don’t,” he told them. The little teddy and Jem both dropped their heads, disappointed. “That’s ok,” Fox chimed in, “Beary and I know where it is. We’ve never gone there at night, but we have been there during the day.” the little teddy began jumping up and down excitedly. “Calm down, PammyBear,” Jem told the little teddy, “Why don’t you all head home, get some supplies, and meet me back here when it starts to get dark?”

A couple of hours passed as the little teddy and her siblings got supplies ready for the night’s adventure. They got flashlights, potatoes, and a few jackets in case the weather got bad. They even packed a few lemons for Zombie Jem. As they were headed out the door to meet back at Jem’s cemetery, Fox stopped everyone for a moment. “Let me run back in and get a camera,” he told them, “so that way we can prove it really happened.” He ran in and grabbed his camera and when he came back out, the group set out to meet up with Zombie Jem.

When they got back to the cemetery, Zombie Jem was waiting for them at the gate. “So, are well ready?” he asked his friends. “You bet we are!” the little teddy replied, excited, “Let’s go! Let’s go! Let’s go!” Beary pulled out a map from her backpack that she and Fox had drawn up before they left home. “The pwace isn’t too far,” she explained, “It should onwy take us about twenny minutes to get there.” She took out some flashlights from her backpack and passed them out to her siblings and Jem. They began walking towards the spot where the mysterious restaurant was said to appear.

The walk to the spot was quite pleasant. The friends laughed and joked the whole way. But as they neared the spot where the restaurant was supposed to appear, they saw nothing. No building at all. It was just a group of trees. “I don’t understand,” Jem said to Owl, “I thought it was supposed to appear at night.” Owl shrugged. “I don’t know,” he answered his undead friend, “Are you sure this is the right spot, Fox?” Fox nodded, “Yes, Beary and I went over the map a few times before we left,” he replied. The adventurers waited at the spot for a while longer before deciding to give up. “Well, this wasn’t quite what I was hoping for,” the little teddy sighed, “I guess we should jus go home.” Jem hugged his friend. “It’s ok, PammyBear,” he told her, “We’ll find somethingelse to do.”

The adventurers began walking back when suddenly they felt a strong, cold wind hit their backs. They turned around to see a huge building where the group of trees had just been. It was a lovely building with large sign on the front which read “The Furry Tails Restaurant & Bar”. The little teddy let out a squeal of excitement. “OH OH OH!” she said excitedly, “It’s reawwy here!!” She went to walk towards the building when Beary grabbed her paw. “Hey,” she told her sister, “maybe we should take our time here. We don’t know if it’s safe.” PammyBear shook her head. “But we’re adventuwers,” she replied, “We can’t always worry about if its safe or not.” Beary nodded. “Yeah, you’re wight,” she agreed, “Let’s do this!”

The little teddy opened the door to the restaurant and was not disappointed. The inside of the restaurant was just as beautiful as the outside. But before she and her companions could begin exploring, they heard a friendly voice coming towards them. “Good evening and welcome to The Furry Tails Restaurant and Bar,” a friendly looking bear said the group, “My name is Chalky and I’ll be your server for the night. Follow me and take you to your seats.”

The adventurers followed Chalky to a very lovely table where he sat them all down and began to take their orders. “What can I get you lovely adventurers to drink,” Chalky asked, smiling, “We quite literally have anything you could want.” Before anyone else could speak, Owl asked, “Excuse me? But how did you know we’re adventurers?” Chalky smiled. “Why everyone who comes here is an adventurer of some sort, Honey,” he answered pleasantly, “Now, you seem like a group who would love some hot, fresh tea. How does that sound?” Everyone agreed that tea sounded great. “Alright, give me just a moment and I’ll have that right out,” Chalky assured them.

It seemed that as soon as Chalky had left, he was back. “That was weawwy fast,” the little teddy said happily as Chalky began pouring tea for everyone. “Well, we do pride ourselves in our customer service,” he replied, setting down the tea pot and pulling out a small notepad, “Now what can I get you all to eat. Again, we do have quite literally anything you may possibly want. We even have an abundance of potatoes for you, should you so please.” The little teddy’s eyes lit up when she heard potatoes. “Ooh!” she exclaimed, “Could I have wots and wots of potatoes, pwease?” Chalky laughed. “Why of course,” he answered, smiling, “And for everyone else?”

As everyone else gave their orders, the little teddy began to look around. The whole restaurant had a very familiar feel to it. Almost as if she’d been there before. She looked over towards the bar. The bartender was a very nice looking gentlemanly bear. Chalky must have noticed her looking, as he said to the little teddy, “That’s Toddy. He’s a fine bartender and such a gentleman. I believe you will all make his acquaintance later on tonight.” When he had finished speaking, Toddy smiled and gave a small wave to them. The adventurers all smiled and waved back. They were all loving this mysterious restaurant.

It took a little longer than when she got drinks, but Chalky returned with their food much quicker than they expected. They had gotten a variety of foods from all over the world. And yet, in seemingly no time at all, here was their server, with all of their food. “Now that’s what I call fast,” Zombie Jem said, surprised. Smiling, Chalky replied, “Of course. As I said, we pride ourselves in our customer service.” Beaming and slightly drooling, Fox said, “I can see why. You’re vewy good and vewy fast!” Chalky gave a small nod. “Which is exactly what such fine guests as yourself,” he said before walking off.

It took the adventurers some time to finish all of their food. But they left not a single crumb. “That was some might fine food,” Jem was saying as Chalky came back to collect everyone’s dishes. “I hope everybody had a pleasant meal,” he said as he began picking up the dishes. “Oh we did!” the little teddy said happily, “Those were some weawwy good potatoes!” Beary nodded. “And my paella was super nummy,” she added, “and Owl’s piewogis!” Owl nodded in agreement. Chalky smiled proudly. “And how about your fish and chips, Fox? And your lasagna, Jem?” Both Fox and Jem smiled widely. “It was quite delicious,” Jem told their server. “So was mine,” Fox agreed. “I’m quite glad,” Chalky said as he took their dishes back to the kitchen. He came back shortly after and struck up conversation with his guests.

The adventurers talked for a while with Chalky before he went back to the kitchen. They were all quite full after their meal. “Maybe we should check out the rest of the place,” Zombie Jem suggested, “A building this big must have more than just a restaurant and a bar.” But before they could get up from the table, a voice from behind them asked, “Dessert?” Everyone turned their heads to see another bear headed their way. She was carrying a tray with a rather large chocolate cake and some ice cream. Suddenly everyone was hungry again. “Yes, please,” they said in unison. After setting the tray on the table, the bear said, “I thought you might say that. My name is Cuddles and I handle dessert here at the restaurant.” She smiled and then proceeded to serve up cake to the adventurers. “Would you mind terribly if stayed to share some dessert too,” she asked, “I would love to get to know you all.” Everyone agreed that they would enjoy that.

After dessert, Cuddles came back to clean up the plates. “That was so so yummy,” the little Teddy told her. Cuddles smiled. “I’m glad you liked it,” she told the group happily, “Now, how would you lot like to check out our game room?” The little teddy jumped up from her seat. “Oh yes pwease!” she exclaimed. “I agree,” Zombie Jem added, “I think it would be quite fun to check out the game room.” Cuddles gathered up the dishes from dessert. “Very well,” she said, “allow me to take care of these and I shall return to take you to the game room.”

Soon they were following Cuddles upstairs to where the game room was. When they saw it, they were not surprised that it was just as splendid as the rest of the restaurant and bar. There were two lovely pool tables and a few tables for playing cards. A large fireplace added an air of comfort to the room. “Well, I shall leave you to it,” Cuddles said, turning to leave, “Please feel free to call me should you need anything.” With that, Cuddles left the adventurers alone in the game room. Or so they thought.

Zombie Jem walked over to the wall where the pool cues were and grabbed two. “Here, PammyBear,” he said excitedly, “let’s play!” It was at the point that Fox noticed somebody sitting in the corner of the room. “Look over there,” he said, pointing to the corner. As everybody turned to look over where Owl had pointed, someone sat up and walked towards them. It was a little cow. He was very small and seemed to have no eyes. “Oh h-h-hewwo,” the little cow stuttered, “M-my name is Oo-oo…my name is Oom.” The little teddy went over and gave him a hug. “Oh hi!” she told him, “what are you doing here?” Oom went over to the wall and got a pool cue. “I wike to pw-pw-pway pool,” he told them. “Oh, ho!” A voice behind the group made them jump. They turned around to see Toddy, the bartender walking into the game room.

“Little Oom here is much more than he appears,” Toddy was explaining, “Despite his very small stature, he is probably the best pool player that we’ve seen here at Furry Tails.” Oom walked over to one of the pool tables. “W-w-would someone w-wike to join m-m-m…join me?” he asked. Zombie Jem walked up to the pool table. “Sure,” he told Oom, “Let’s play.” Toddy clapped his paws together. “Very well,” he said happily, “it loos like we have a match!”

Zombie Jem racked up the balls and the game was on. Jem lined up and took his first shot. It was a good one, with one of the striped balls pocketed. “Yes!” Jem exclaimed, “Off to a great start!” But then, to his disappointment, he scratched on his next shot. “Well, that isn’t what I expected,” he sighed. Oom then moved up to the table. “H-h-here we g-g-g-go,” he stammered. He took his first shot. And when he did, Jem knew he had no chance of winning. Oom pocketed three of his balls with his first shot. And then he continued to sink the rest of them, without missing any of them. Within a matter of minutes, Oom had won.

Toddy went over to Jem and patted him on the back. “Oh, now that was a great game,” he declared, “well played, the both of you!” Zombie Jem hung his head. The little teddy went over and gave him a hug. “Teeheehee, cwazy zombie,” she teased, “that was over vewy fast.” Oom took Jems hand and shook it. “Y-you di-d-d-did vewy w-well,” he assured him, “I’m jus b-b-better. Tee. Hee.” Toddy let a chuckle. “Well, I think the poor chap’s had enough games for now,” he stated, “Why don’t you all follow me back to the bar for a Furry Tails nightcap before we close up for the evening?” The little teddy shrugged. “Ok, that sounds good!” she answered, “But do you have to cwose soon?” Toddy nodded. “Oh, yes, I’m afraid we do,” he told her, “It is getting very late.” He looked over to Oom. “Are you coming, Oom,” he asked. Oom shook his head. “N-n-no thank you,” he answered, “I th-think I’m going to pw-pw-pwactice a little.” Toddy nodded. “Very well,” he said with a smile, “We shall see you later.”

In a few minutes, the adventurers were all seated at the bar. “Now,” Toddy started, “what would everyone like? Anything you want, we have.” The little teddy took a minute to think. “Ohh, could I get a hot chocowate, pwease?” she asked, “Wif mini marshmewwows?” Fox nodded excitedly. “Ooh, me too, pwease!” he said happily. Toddy smiled cheerily. “Of course,” he said, “and for the rest of you?” After a moment, Zombie Jem asked, “Could I get some tea? Earl Grey, if you have it?” Toddy nodded. “We certainly do have that,” he replied. “May I have some apple juice, pwease?” Beary asked. “And, I’d like a strawberry milk, please.” Owl added. Toddy nodded again and turned around to start getting everyone’s drinks.

He turned back soon with their drinks all ready. “Dang,” Jem said, “Everyone’s fast here!” Toddy chuckled. “We do our best,” he stated, “Now, drink up!” Everyone tried their drinks. “Oh, this is so so nummy,” teddy said happily. Everyone agreed. “Yes, this is some of the best tea I’ve ever had,” Zombie Jem told him. “Well, I try to make sure everyone who drinks here at my bar has a very pleasant experience,” Toddy replied. “Well, you’ve certainly seen to that here,” Owl answered. To which Toddy said, “Why thank you! We’re all so happy you’ve had a great night with us here.” As everyone had their drinks, they talked at length about many things with Toddy. He was a very interesting bear with many fun tales to tell.

When everyone finished their drinks, Toddy led them all back to the entrance. Waiting for them there were Chalky and Cuddles. Chalky smiled and gave each of the adventurers a hug. “Thank you so much for coming,” he said to the little teddy as he hugged her. “Yes,” Cuddles added, “we’ve loved having you all.” From behind them, they heard the familiar voice of Oom. “I know w-we onwy pwayed one g-g-game of p-p-p…of pool,” he stuttered, “but it was a w-wot of f-f-fun.” He gave everyone a hug, and stood with Chalky and Cuddles. Toddy then proceeded to give each adventurer a big hug himself. “I had a jolly good time chatting with you all at the bar,” he told them, “You’ve all been very pleasant guests. And we truly are grateful to have had you here tonight. Thank you all very much.” The little teddy smiled. “No no!” she said, “Thank you all so so much for being so nice to us! We had a weawwy gweat time!”

The group left The Furry Tails Restaurant and Bar and started to head home. The little teddy turned back to wave goodbye, but the building had vanished. It it’s place was the same group of trees that had been there when the had first arrived. She pointed this out to her companions. “Well I’ll be,” Owl said, “That place really is a mystery.” Fox and Beary nodded. “But it’s a nice mystery,” Jem replied. The little teddy nodded. “I agwee,” she said, “We should go there again.” Everyone nodded in agreement. They then continued their walk home, all the while talking about their experience at The Furry Tails Restaurant and Bar. None of them realized that they not taken a single picture to prove their tale.

Meet the Author

Hello, everyone. My name is Teddy. You may know me as the author of A Little Teddy Has an Adventure and Some Teddies Meet a Zombie. I am a relatively new author, but I hope to continue my career and make many more stories for you all to enjoy.

There isn’t too much to say about me. I’m a simple bear who loves to read and write. I like most genres of books. As far as writing, I aim to write mostly stories for younger teddies and humens. Maybe someday I’ll make my way into more mature stories. But for now, I like what I write, and I certainly hope you do too.

When I’m not reading and writing, I enjoy watching crime shows with my mommy and daddy. I also enjoy anything involving trivia. I enjoy learning new things, and think it’s a good idea for everyone to learn as much as they can.

Well, I know I’m not overly interesting, but I hope you enjoyed getting to know me a little. I hope you will all enjoy my next story, which I will post sometime either today or tomorrow. Good day to everyone!

Some Teddies Meet a Zombie

Teddy 39

Oh hello again! Thank you for joining us once again. Since last nights story seems to have gone over well, I thought it’d be nice to give you another. Today’s story is brought to you in part by Zombie Jim [Morrison]. It’s called Some Teddies Meet a Zombie. I do hope you enjoy.

Some Teddies Meet a Zombie

“What do you want to do tonight?” the little teddy was asking her siblings. It had been a few weeks since the little teddy went on her first big adventure. And since then, she had gotten quite a few of her brothers and sisters interested in adventuring. She had taken them on few small adventures, but now everyone was ready for something bigger. “Oh!” her little sister chimed, “We could check out the old cemetery down the road.” The little teddy and her siblings discussed this idea for few minutes. Some were too scared to go, but those who weren’t agreed to get ready for adventuring and head out.

The teddies who had decided to go adventuring met out front of their house after gathering supplies. “Ooh, I brought some flashlights,” the little teddy’s big brother said proudly, pulling a flashlight out of his backpack, “and I brought a ton of fresh batteries, just to be safe.” The little teddy took the flashlight from her brother and started out into the yard. “Fowwow me,” she instructed her siblings, “and stay cwose. It’s gonna get even darker as we move further from the house.” Her big brother took out another flashlight from his backpack. “I’ll take up the rear,” he explained to everyone, “since I’m so big, I can keep watch on everything as we walk to the cemetery.”

By the time the teddies reached the cemetery, it had gotten much darker. But none of them were the least bit scared. Their previous endeavors had prepared them well. The little teddy left her littler sister, Beary, in charge of snacks; she didn’t want a repeat of her first adventure. Two of her little brothers, Fox and Owl, kept watch on the sides as they walked, just in case something came out of the grass on either side of the group. But nothing did. The trek was steady and pretty uneventful.

The cemetery was surrounded by a large iron gate. It was old and slightly rusted. Vines had grown around much of the gate, giving it quite the ominous look. The little teddy noticed a light coming from the back of the the cemetery. “Do you all see that light?” she asked her siblings, “That light in the back there?” Everyone else peered through the gate and saw the light that she mentioned. Then her big brother Teddy looked up at the front gate and noticed something weird.

“Look, up at the gate,” he told the rest of the group, “There’s a chain keeping the gate closed.” Everyone looked up and saw that, just as he said, the gate was locked up tight by a heavy chain and padlock. “Then how did someone get in there?” the little teddy asked. “I don’t know, but I think we should probably go,” her little brother owl suggested. The little teddy nodded. “Yes, I think your wight,” she said, “I don’t think we could ever climb or jump this.” And so, a little disappointed, the teddies turned to head back home.

As soon as the group turned around, the heard the sound of the gate opening behind them. The all jumped and spun around to see the silhouette of someone walking towards them from the now wide open gate. Now getting a little scared, the teddies all huddled together as the shape continued to move towards them. “Someone, quick!” Fox yelled, “shine a light on whatever that is!” The little teddy and her big brother both shined their lights on the figure. Then they all screamed.

“ZOMBIE!” the teddies yelled in unison. They turned to run when, to their surprise, the zombie spoke. “Would you like some tea?” the zombie asked. Quite befuddled by the strange, speaking zombie, the group slowly turned back around. What they saw was a surprisingly friendly looking zombie holding a teapot. “Hello, everyone,” the zombie smiled, “please, do come in and have some tea! I’ve just brewed a fresh pot.”

The group of teddies cautiously followed their undead host to the back of the cemetery, where he had set up a small campfire. The all sat down around the fire and the zombie handed each a cup and filled it with tea. He then sat down with his own cup. “My name is Jem,” the zombie introduced himself, “It’s a pleasure to meet you all.” He got up and gave each of the teddies a hug. Surprisingly, he gave very nice hugs for a zombie. “Why do you live in this cemetewy?” the little teddy asked him. Jem then gave the a little bit of his backstory.

Jem had been a musician a long time back. He used to perform for many people all over the world. He had played for some of the most important people around during the time when he was still living. He had died tragically in a way that he felt the teddies did not need details on. “I don’t remember much about being dead,” he explained to his now entranced audience, “But I do remember waking up here about five years ago. I’ve lived here ever since.”

“So, you’re just a wandom zombie wiving in our cemetery, dwinking tea?” Beary asked, “And this tea is pwetty good, by the way.” Jem walked around and proceeded to boop every teddy on the nose. “Yep!” he said happily, “I just live here in this cemetery. I don’t really eat much, so I just drink tea and collect potatoes.” The little teddy’s ears perked up at the utterance of potato, the favorite food of the teddies. “Did you say potatoes?” she asked, excitedly, “Because I wove potatoes!!” The zombie’s eyes lit up. “Oh, follow me,” he instructed the adventuring teddies, “have I got something to show you!”

The teddies followed Jem to a group of large trees nearby where they were just sitting. Behind the trees was a sight that stopped all the teddies in their tracks. Sacks and sacks of potatoes, boxes of potatoes, and loose potatoes littered the ground. There had to be thousands of potatoes. The little teddy had never seen so many potatoes. Upon seeing the looks of excitement on the faces of so many adorable teddies, the zombie couldn’t help but get excited himself. “Look,” he told the adventurers, “I know we just met, but I want you all to have these potatoes.”

The teddies just stood there in awe. They couldn’t believe their ears. Owl had fallen out of the sky when he heard. “Don’t leave me hanging,” Jem laughed, “Do you want the potatoes or not?” The little teddy couldn’t help herself. She ran up and hugged the zombie as big as she could. “Oh! Tha’s so nice! I jus wanna boop your nose and eat these potatoes!” said excitedly as she started to boop the zombie’s nose. Seeing their sister get so excited, the other teddies ran over and started gathering some potatoes. They thanked their new friend and started home.

But the little teddy had decided to stay there with her new friend. They stayed up all night, eating potatoes and getting to know one another better. The little teddy hadn’t planned to make a new friend on her adventure to the cemetery. And yet, that is exactly what had happened. She had met a zombie. And to her surprise, he wasn’t a scary monster, but a rather nice guy. And after a while of talking, the little teddy decided that this was a friend who would be fun to go adventuring with. “Oh, we should go expworing one day,” she told Jem, “It would be so much fun!” Jem nodded his head happily. “Yes, I agree,” he replied, “I would very much like that!” The teddy stood up. “We’ll have to discuss detail water,” she said, picking up her backpack, “I need to head back home.”

Jem walked the little teddy to the edge of the cemetery. “I do hope you’ll come visit me again!” he told her excitedly. The little teddy smiled as big as she could. “Oh I definitewy will!” she told him, “I weawwy want to go adventuwing wif you!” She started to walk home, but stopped suddenly. “Everything ok?” Jem asked. The little teddy took off her backpack and started rummaging through it. She pulled something out and started to walk back towards the cemetery. “Evwything’s fine,” she told Jem, “I just wanted to give you this.” She reached her paw out and handed her new undead friend a lemon. “Just in case you need it,” she explained. Jem happily took the lemon and beamed. “I’m sure I will need it,” he replied happily, “Thank you very much! I’ll see you later!”

After a few more minutes of hugs and boops, the little teddy headed home. The walk home was pleasant and it gave her time to eat some potatoes and think about her new friend and the adventures they were sure to go on. By the time she got home, she had already planned multiple adventures for her and Jem to go on. When she reached the door, her daddy opened the door and picked her up. “Your brothers and sisters say you’ve had quite the adventure today,” he said as he brought her inside, “why don’t you come tell us all about it?” The little teddy was very excited to tell them all about her latest adventure.

A Little Teddy has an Adventure

Teddy 38

Oh, hello there. My name is Teddy, and I shall be reading a bedtime story. Our first story is called A Little Teddy has an Adventure. I hope you enjoy it.

A Little Teddy has an Adventure

Once upon a time, long ago in far away kingdom, there lived a little teddy. She lived in a small village with her mommy and daddy and her many many brothers and sisters. Their mommy and daddy worked normal jobs and the teddies played and frolicked about the house and yard. They lived a very simple life with little to no adventure.

But the little teddy really wanted to have an adventure. She didn’t mind the simple life, but the idea of having a real adventure just made her so excited. One day she approached her brothers and sisters and explained to them about her dreams of being an adventurer. She tried to talk a few of them into having an adventure, but they were more than content with their simple lives. So the little teddy decided to head out on her own to have a real adventure.

The little teddy gathered up everything she figured she would need for her adventure. Not ever having been on an adventure, she wasn’t really sure what she should have. So she put some potatoes into a backpack and she was ready. She stacked a bunch of books by the door so she could open it, and out she went.

Now, the little teddy had been outside more than once, but somehow it seemed different this time. Everything seemed much larger this time; the trees seemed monstrous in size. Rocks that once seemed so small now appeared as boulders to the new adventurer. Even the grass seemed more like a lush jungle to the teddy. It made the little teddy a little nervous.

But the little teddy was determined to have a real adventure. She wasn’t going to let anything stand in her way. So she made her way into the world. Carefully pushing aside the blades of grass, the little teddy started walking towards a large tree near the edge of the front yard. “I can do this,” the little teddy told herself, “I’m a weal adventuwer!”

After walking for about a minute, the little teddy started to feel tired. “I think I need to take a quick break,” she said aloud, “this adventuwing is hard.” She sat down next to one of the many boulders on the way to her destination. She took off her backpack and pulled out a potato. She took a big bite out if and exclaimed, “This is so nummy! I think I need another one!”

But once the little Teddy started eating potatoes, she just couldn’t stop. Before she knew it she had eaten all the potatoes she brought with her. “Ooh, I’m getting sweepy,” the little teddy yawned, “I think I’m gonna take a little nap.” She lay down next to the boulder, using her now empty backpack as a pillow, and fell asleep.

The little teddy awoke to a drop of rain landing on her face. It was dark out and a little windy. The little teddy quickly got up and put on her backpack. She was starting to get a little scared. “Oh no!” she shivered, “I think I swept for too long! Now it’s all dark and scawy.” Tears started to form in her eyes, but she quickly shook it off. “No!” the little teddy told herself defiantly, “I’m an adventuwer! I can find my way home!”

The little teddy had gotten a little disoriented from being woken up so suddenly. She wasn’t sure on how to make her way back home. She stood thinking for a few moments, ignoring the fact that her fur and backpack were getting heavier from the steady rainfall. Then she remembered something. “Oh!” she exclaimed, “mommy and daddy would have lit the lantern by the fwont door by now! I jus have to find the light!” She scanned the yard until she noticed a faint light in the distance. “That has to be it,” she told herself, her confidence growing, “time to go home.”

The blades of grass her much harder to push aside and the ground was much slicker now and the little teddy was having a bit of trouble making her way towards the house. On more than one occasion, she wanted to break down and cry out for her mommy and daddy to come find her to bring her home. But, she refused to give up. She wanted to prove to herself that she could have as many adventures as she wanted.

After what seemed like ages to the little teddy, the light was now so bright that she knew she had made it. Pushing the last few blades of grass out of her way, she started to run up to the door. And as soon as she reached the door, it opened to reveal her mommy, brothers, and sisters. The little teddy was so relieved that she almost started to cry. “Now where have you been?” her mommy asked her, smiling. The little teddy quickly fought back back the tears that threatened to come pouring out any minute. “I went adventuwing, Mommy!” she replied proudly. “Well, that’s very exciting,” her mommy told her, “But how about coming inside now to have some hot cocoa before bed?” The little teddy began bouncing excitedly. “Oh yes pwease!” she said happily. Her mommy picked her up and took her to get cocoa with her siblings.

A few minutes later, the little teddy’s daddy quietly walked in from outside. Her mommy met him, helping him quietly out of his soaked clothing. “Do you think she saw you?” she asked him. “No,” her daddy replied, “I kept my distance.” The little teddy’s mommy smiled. “How long were you out with her?” she questioned. Her daddy shrugged and smiled. “For a while,” he answered, his smile growing, “she had already fallen asleep when I got home. But enough about that, let’s go see how she’s doing.”

The little teddy was drinking her cocoa and telling her siblings about her big adventure. “And the monster wan away when I swung my sword,” she was telling them. She stopped short when she saw her mommy and daddy walking in. “OH, DADDY,” she yelled, hopping down from her seat and running over to her daddy, “GUESS WHAT?” Her daddy bent down and picked up the little teddy. “What?” he asked her, smiling. “I went on a weawwy big adventure today!” the little teddy excitedly answered her daddy. “Really? That sounds very exciting,” her daddy told her, “Why don’t we all grab our cocoa and head to the living room and you can tell us all about it.” He set the little teddy down so she could get her cup of cocoa. Then he followed her and her siblings into the living room where the little teddy told them all about her grand adventure.
